Gnewikow & Woodside Take home a New Triton Boat on Kentucky
The team of David Gnewikow and Kevin Woodside won the third divisional one day of the Ram 100% Plus Team Tour event on May 20, 2017 at Kentucky Lake. Launching out of Moors Resort and Marina Gnewikow and Woodside brought in the winning limit weighing 27.34 pounds with a 6.38-pound kicker to win a new 2017 Triton Boats 17TX with a Mercury 60hp four stroke outboard, Garmin Echomap units, Motorguide trolling motor, and a host of T-H Marine products valued at $20,000. They also took home $1,400 from the High Stake Option Pot. They will also take home $7,000 from Triton Gold and $1000 giving them a combined total of $29,400.
“We ran south this morning as I usually do and caught my fish a good way away from here. We threw a Strike King 6XD and 8XD today to catch our fish. We were fishing 12-15 feet of water and culled a ton of 4-pound bass. I lost a big fish that would have made the difference between the tie and the win,” stated Gnewikow.
“We ran around out deep from spot to spot and was able to get five good bites. We threw crankbaits all day long and our main one being a Strike King 6XD,” said Sumner.
In third place was Gary Singleton and Ed Gettys. They brought in a 24.72-pound bag with a 7.14-pound kicker and took home $1800 for their efforts. They also took home $740 for the big bass as well as $500 from the High Stakes Option Pot giving them a total of $3040.
“We caught our fish today throwing a Carolina Rig and Crankbaits. The big bass was caught using a crankbait today. We caught our fish pretty early fishing ledges in 10-12 feet of water,” stated Singleton.
